Shopping in Bogota can be very frustrating if you don't know where to go. In general, brand name clothing, shoes, cosmetics, and accessories are more expensive here. On the bright side, there are spectacular, local leather goods and jewelry that are very reasonably priced. Here's a selection of our favourite places.
Corner stores (Tienda) and pharmacies (Drogeria). The tiendas and Drogerias are everywhere in Bogota. The great thing about tiendas and drogerias is domicillio. Simply collect the business card or flyer of the store closet to your house or hotel and the next time you find yourself in need of something, ranging from beers to snacks to medication, simply call and wait for front door (or porteria) service! Most stores will go out of there way to find your requested items so calling is generally your best bet. Of course, the only downside is that you need some Spanish to be able to communicate with them.

It's our Home Depot, but along with the construction materials you will also find items for the home. The almencenes (stores) tab on their website didn't work for me, but the one we usually go to is at Avenida 68 with Calle 80.

From socks to yoga outfits, Punto Blanco has it all (men and women). What is the most impressive is the variety of items and colors they have. With stores all over the city (and all major shopping centers), and their explicit adds, you certainly can't miss it. Check their website for locations.

Tania is an intimate apparel store where you can find all the basics you need. Nothing fancy but perfect for stockings, leggings, sleep wear, etc. We can say that the quality for stockings is not the best, but for the price they are really pretty and you can easily afford to buy many and change more often. You will find a store in almost all shopping center and on big streets.
